ABOUT
The Old Newsagent is a modern, self-contained, ground floor holiday apartment in Newcomen Road, overlooking Bayard’s Cove and the River Dart.
Run as a newsagent by his family since 1870, the apartment has been recently restored by Basil Williams and his wife Jasmine, who live above. It has one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and bath, a spacious lounge and dining area and a kitchen for preparing breakfast and light meals.
Enjoying a wonderful location, close to bars, cafes and shops, the Old Newsagent is perfect for short breaks and overnight stays. It is a mile-long walk to the South West Coastal path and Dartmouth Castle and a short drive to some of Devon’s most beautiful beaches.
The Old Newsagent is not suitable for dogs and smoking or vaping is not permitted on the premises.

The Accommodation
The newly refurbished, self-contained apartment is at ground floor level and is centrally heated throughout.

The double bedroom has two bedside tables with drawers and wall mounted clothes hooks to hang coats and longer items of clothing.
It has an open-plan lounge/diner with a two-seater settee, television, WIFI Internet connection and dining table to seat four people. The kitchen is well appointed with crockery, cooker, hob, toaster and kettle.
The bathroom comprises a bath with incorporated shower cubicle and heated towel rail.
All bedding and towels are provided.
Parking is not provided. Roadside parking outside the Old Newsagent is restricted to one hour between May and September. It remains unrestricted in the winter months.

The apartment has river views from the lounge and Bayard's Cove is 50 metres away down one flight of steps.

Dartmouth has many independent shops,cafes and restaurants. The Flavel Arts Centre has a theatre, cinema and library.

Steam Railway
Get the ferry to Kingswear and catch the Steam train to Paignton.
Market
Dartmouth Market is held every Friday and a craft market runs on the last Saturday of each month.
Outdoor Activities
Dartmouth is a wonderful sporting base for walking, cycling, golf, tennis, swimming and of course enjoy the pleasures of the River Dart by getting out on the water.
